Having recently been browbeaten persuaded by flickgc and at least one fishlifter, I have actually got round to joining They Came And Shaved Us and booking a hotel room. (Six more memberships left for anyone who is similarly dilatory).

I'd now like someone to reassure me that I won't actually be the oldest person at the convention. I'm too young to be an old fogey. At least, I had better be too young to be an old fogey.

I will, of course, be carefully assessing the convention's narrative momentum.

Hmmm... I suspect that you won't be the oldest person, but I can't be sure off the top of my head who's older. I'm not very good with ages beyond "younger than me", "older than me", "quite a bit older than me" and "old".

And I won't embarrass people by talking about their ages in public.
