Judging a book by its cover

I am deeply impressed to see that autopope has accomplished the unprecedented (as far as I know) feat of getting his own picture on the front cover of one of his novels, the UK paperback of Halting State.

It's definitely the front cover -- I saw it in an actual bookshop.

In which case it's either a very cool/neat one or it's going to confuse new readers a lot.
