I am deeply impressed to see that [livejournal.com profile] autopope has accomplished the unprecedented (as far as I know) feat of getting his own picture on the front cover of one of his novels, the UK paperback of Halting State.

If what's visible on Amazon is a new front cover, then I'm impressed too to see his arrival from the formaer back cover.

In which case it's either a very cool/neat one or it's going to confuse new readers a lot.

Back in 2005, the front cover of the first edition of Harry Turtledove's Every Inch a King including pictures of the author, the artist, and the publisher.

Someone needs to animate that. A little game perhaps where you have to guide Charlie to the con, keep away from orcs and men with guns, and when you've scored so many points you can call in an air strike from Cory Doctorow in a hot air balloon.

Difficulties in getting Charlie to the con also including his plane being struck by lightning.

(Yes. That happened.)

The reissue of my novel The Hundredfold Problem has me on the front cover (ogling the scantily clad heroine), while the same artist (the wonderful audre) put me in caveman guise on the front cover of my story collection Take No Prisoners.

Charlie really does need to cut down on the green food colouring in his diet and get a to a dentist... Nice axe though!
