New species sighting for the year, seen from our balcony (by

first): Daubenton's Bat (probably; looked a bit big for a pipistrelle). They're supposed to be hibernating for another two months at least.

Yes, we've been having some of our warmest January weather ever, with daytime temperatures over 60F, and night-time temperatures in the mid 50s.
