A Bad Start to Christmas

Woke up yesterday morning with a fever, but fortified by Lem-Sip I managed to get to Euston to meet my mother. And when we got home we were greeted by the news that her mother, my grandmother, had died. Not exactly unexpected or premature, given that she'd just passed 102, but it's still bad timing for Christmas.

I'm feeling better today, which is good news for [livejournal.com profile] flickgc who does not want to have to phone her mother for instructions on how to cook the Christmas dinner.

My condolences to you and your family. Even when it's expected, it's never easy, and especially during the Holidays.

Sorry to hear this. I don't know why but this seems a bad time of year for elderly relatives. My grandfather died en route to us for Christmas on 23rd December, though that was 24 years ago now...

Hope everything else goes better for you and [livejournal.com profile] flickgc!

I'm sorry to hear that. Tell your Mum I'm thinking of her.

Don't let [livejournal.com profile] flickgc burn the sprouts.
