No information currently available except for these pictures.

They've added a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, thus fixing the main problem with the N800. Also looks like better camera placement. I'm not sure where they've put most of the buttons, but there's no picture of the top.

Two of the images have a screenshot of a map. If they've added built-in GPS as well, then this is an incredibly useful little gadget.

Nice! My N770 has demonstrated the utility of such things but doesn't quite have the headroom needed to do it right. The keyboard will be especially appreciated, and it it has GPS - wow!

Oooh, tempting. I'd like something in that kind of class for taking notes, doing a little writing, and surfing the web on. This looks pretty much ideal.

I bought an N800 last week when the price dropped to $250, obviousuy in anticipation of this announcement. Its a fun toy, but the UI is a bit clunky. I plan to use it as a descrete PC while on my travels.

You might want a bluetooth keyboard to go with it...

I was going to be all sarcastic about this until I realised I've spent the last hour purring quietly to myself about the shiny thing I just bought.

And it's only a razor*, for Ghod's sake!

*Obviously a bluetooth-enabled razor but .. oh, there I go.

Possibly. I'm wary of becoming [livejournal.com profile] autopope who fills his suitcase with gadgets, as that's really not appropriate for stuffing in a rucksack in South America. As all I'd want to write is LJ postings, I suspect internet cafes will be more common and practical than wifi points. I've not tried external keyboards in the USB port yet as I need a normal to micro USB box rather than cable, but that might be worth a try before I invest in a new keyboard.

But will it have a phone in it?

That's still the biggest flaw in the N770/800. I'm using the competing OpenMoko Neo1973 at the moment, and the phone makes a huge difference.

That does look nice. If the keyboard is usable, it could almost make the grade as a Psion replacement (though I'm not crazy about the cursor pad over on the left).

Posting from my E61i, by the way.

As it can connect to the net via bluetooth to whatever phone you have, does it matter?

PS accoding to Brighthand it does have GPS.

Whose keypad is a little on the cramped side - I have difficulty typing large amounts without numbers of typos. But I still love it.
