Hmm, are you sure. I ask because (a) I've never heard of Gadwalls (and sadly, I do know a bit about birds too) and (b) these look a lot like female mallards.
Or is this a wind-up to check whether anyone looks at your pictures? Feel free to enlighten me.
You can't see from the photo that they're smaller than mallards, but you can see that they have no speculum, and their bills are too dark for mallards. Here's the Wikipedia article on gadwall, where you will see that the female looks a lot like a female mallard, but with no speculum.
