First Thursday

I had a call from the manager of Walkers. He says that the Goose on Holborn would be willing to take us in and give us their private downstairs room, and that they have food and a wider range of real ale than Walkers. He's going to get the manager there to give me a call.

Anyone familiar with the pub? (It used to be called the Sir Christopher Hatton).

It's here, closer to the Tube and buses than Walkers, so I imagine the location would be OK.

As recorded in Ansible 48 - http://news.ansible.co.uk/a48.html - the Sir Christopher Hatton was used by Malcolm Edwards for alternative meetings for pros on first Thursdays. I did check it out back in the days of the crisis at the dead nurse, but it didn't make any shortlists. I haven't been in since it became a Goose pub, but I did check out the Goose near St Pauls, which though a little cheap and cheerful I thought might be a possibility. Anyway, the more possibilities we have in case the worst happens, the better. I'll check it out.
