I'd go for the online bookseller diversifying into paper production to form a veritcal monopoly - woods to words, if you will.

Or maybe I'm just in a silly mood this afternoon.

As so often - it's down to immediate context.

In this case, I'd heard the story behind the technology used to detect it a couple of hours earlier. If, on the other hand, I'd read a story about the other sort of logging shortly previously, then I'd have gone the other way.

What I'd have thought of in the absence of either - well, I might have misread it as "Amazing 'stealth' dogging revealed", with police CCTV footage of what people get up to in public carparks. Or something.

It would depend where I saw it. On Slashdot, online privacy. In a newspaper, cutting down rainforests.

I picked the option I did because I'd just been looking through the list of "recommendations" for me on amazon.co.uk. (They are truly bizarre....) But then I remembered that today's Grauniad had an environmental news item. (Heigh-ho.)

Of course, as soon as I actually read the poll, I realised I was totally wrongfooted and that the answer was obvious.
