You've probably seen the potato salad Kickstarter already. But he seems to have a bit of a problem, which is an object lesson in why you should pick your crowdfunding rewards carefully. 720 people have now contributed enough to have the right to each pick an additional (appropriate) ingredient for the potato salad, which is thus going to be the most complicated single recipe ever cooked.

Good point, though he's covered somewhat by the $350 stretch goal saying he'd probably make 3 different recipes of potato salad.

He's also on the hook for giving a bite of potato salad to more than 2,000 backers at this point. That's an interesting fulfillment challenge, one he's already looking into

He was wise to limit the haiku reward to 4 backers.

I love the internet. His $10 Kickstarter was just over $35,000 about 24 hours ago. Now it's over $55,000. I suspect it will top out within another couple of days, then have a long tail during the the last 3 weeks of the 30 day funding period. But that's a guess. I look forward to seeing where this particular Kickstarter ends up!

I can never figure out why people pledge money to these things. How many people can afford $10 for a laugh?

There is no shortage of people willing to spend $10 for a laugh. One or two drinks in a bar costs about the same. It's a pretty low bar I feel.
