Can you spot the deliberate mistake in this quotation from this page on the BBC's site?

"Many people haven't driven at night or in bad weather conditions and haven't driven with other people in the car. That is not part of the test. That becomes a problem when they get into their car with a licence for the first time."

Sounds like a court case report I once saw, reporting convictions for:
(a) driving without due care and attention
(b) driving without excess alcohol in blood.

How exactly have they learned to drive or passed the test without another person in the car? It's illegal for learners to drive without a licensed driver accompanying them!

You have to drive with someone else in the car before you get a license!!!

I might argue that you need a licence before starting to learn how to drive, but when you pass the test you get a "full licence". But I guess that is splitting hairs and probably not what you mean.

Without other people in the car maybe? What they mean is 'with children in the car making a racket in the back seat'

There's a difference between "another person" and "other people" though, isn't there?

Maybe we should go down the Irish route where young drivers up to 24 are not allowed passengers for six months and must have N plates on their cars for two years after passing their test.

They were also limited to a max speed of 45 mph too but I think that one has been lifted now.
