Upgrading

I went out at lunchtime and bought a copy of Panther, Mac OS X 10.3, for the PowerBook. I'm planning to install it the hard way, with a complete format and reinstall on the internal hard disk, so my files are backing up to the external disk right now.

If I never post to LJ again, it means something has gone wrong. Well, something has gone pretty badly wrong, since I have a PC as well, plus I have enough parts lying around to build another PC from scratch, and there's always the work laptop.

You should find it a fairly painless process. I did an archive and install on the train home on Friday with no problems.

So far so good, machine is running nicely.
