May I be the first to congratulate [livejournal.com profile] frostfox on winning the Hugo award for Fan Artist. About time, too.

In other Hugo news, the Hugo for Canadian SF novel (special category this year) went to Hominids by Robert J Sawyer, the Hugo for Dave Langford was won by Dave Langford and the one for Locus went to Locus. In the newly rearranged media categories, the one for Lord of the Rings Movie went to The Two Towers, while the new category of Buffy Episode went to "Conversations with Dead People".

The other winners in the less predictable categories are on PNN.

Congratulations to Sue of course but it is the news that Dave has another Hugo which gets the ol' brain working. I begin to wonder if he might not now have enough to consrtuct his very own SFnal bed of nails. He could sell copies of it in all the New Age magazines, 'I promise you that the pure spirit of Science Fiction will flow into your body each and every time you sleep on the Langford Rocket Bed. It will sweep away all vestiges of infirmity and illness and carry you into the world of the future sound in mind and sound in health.'

Go Sue!

Thanks for posting this -- in LJ, too.

So, did Dave Langford actually collect his award in person? Were there witnesses? Enquiring minds want to know.

He did! I was there and saw it, but I never got an answer to whether he planned to call Martin Hoare at 3am.
