Didn't take many pictures during the Worldcon, but here are a few behind the cut.

flickgc was on the "How to wear a kimono" programme item, which seems to have suffered initially from a lack of communication between the Japanese- and English-speaking participants.

Here's the 2007 Hugo design, about one second after it was unveiled for the first time. Shame we didn't get to take one home with us.

We're staying in the Pan-Pacific hotel -- on the 9th floor (which they call the 10th floor, following American conventions), on the left-hand side of this picture.

Here's the view from our balcony -- the wheel on the left is called Cosmo-Clock 21, and is about 3/4 the height of the London Eye. The partial building on the right is the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Japan.

Here's the wheel again -- they light it up at night.

Here's the Pacifico convention complex seen from onboard the Cosmo-Clock 21 wheel. The low building at the front is the Conference Center where all the programming was held. The tall one to the right is the International Hotel where the room parties happened. Rear left is the Exhibition Hall, where Art Show (small), Dealers (very small) and Exhibits were housed. The white roof just to the left of the hotel is the Convention Center, which the con didn't use at all.

After we rode the wheel,

flickgc went on the rollercoaster -- here she is (front right of the front car) plummeting into Thunderbird 3's secret hangar underneath the swimming pool.

Then we went in the Ice World exhibit, which is cooler than the rest of the Yokohama weather at -30°C. We didn't stay long, but here are some ice sculptures.
