Most people seem to be voting for "Somewhere Else" in the PNN poll mentioned in my last entry. So, taking advantage of LJ's better polls:

[Poll #230734]

Dr P your response makes no sense? The Jubilee is one of the options in that poll wot you created?

Presumably he voted so he can click through to the answers easily in future?

I'm not voting on any of it since I am never there these days. Besides, I have no idea what or where The Windmill is.

The pnn poll was based on Mr Newman's suggestions.

The only time I've heard of the Windmill is last night - the next Worldcon opn meeting is being held there, iirc. It's near TCR/ Googe Street.

Not quite. On Mill Street off Conduit Street off Regent Street, so probably nearest to Oxford Circus.

I'd not heard of it before last night either.

Sorry - I stand corrected. Was going off a vague memory from a quick look at the flier, which I don't seem to have a copy of even though I thought I'd picked one up...

and Mr Newman was pointing out that the numbers have dwindled so much, the Jubilee would no longer be too small

I suspect that if we went back to the Jubilee then more people would come back, though...

Is the Jubilee still ostensibly a gay pub though?
(struggles manfully not to quote Electric Six lyrics...)
They might not want a whole shedload of straights turning up?
I seem to remember this being an argument against the Jub. last time.
Also they were a bit lacking on the Proper Beer front the last time. I seem to remember [livejournal.com profile] reverendjim coming up with the idea of a Campaign for Queer Ale - people shouldn't have to drink crap lager or alcopops just because they were gay.

Yes, there's that problem too. It is still a gay pub.

It turns out that you don't need to type anything -- you can just click "Submit". (I only learned about this trick this week, myself.)

Yeah, that works once. If you want to *keep* checking progress of the poll then if you have already voted it's one step closer.
