I'm planning to see it this weekend at one of my local multiplexes (and had read enough of a lot summary elsewhere to be aware of its general narrative thrust). But I'm not expecting -- and I haven't been expecting, ever since hearing that a film was in the works -- to see an adaptation of an O'Brian novel, or even of an O'Brian milieu; I expect to see a rousing (hopefully) seafaring action-adventure which just happens to use some of his characters.
But I'm prepared to be surprised about that last bit.
