So, I'm installing a wireless router, wireless PC card and wireless printer for [livejournal.com profile] flickgc's dentist. And when I take the laptop with the wireless card into the treatment room at the other end of the corridor from the reception area where the router is, the signal strength seems pretty poor -- it's down to 2Mbit/sec on an 802.11g connection that should be doing 54Mbit/sec.

"Ah, yes," the dentist suddenly remembers. "The walls are all lined with lead to stop the X-ray machines from irradiating people in the next room." Whoops!
