Unless we've mispriced the environmental cost of the extra emissions, then in those circumstances 6x current emissions would indeed be the best solution. There would be a lot of environmental problems, but a vast amount of money that could be used to tackle those problems (six times current emissions would be about 150 billion tons, which at $50 per ton would generate US$750 billion per year, over 1% of total world GDP).
